UN praises Qatar for supporting counter-terrorism efforts Apr 08, 2019 0 561 12345 QNADohaUndersecretary of the UN Counter-Terrorism Office, Vladimir Ivanovich Voronkov, has praised the support provided by Qatar to the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism.Voronkov praised Qatar’s active contribution to efforts of preventing violent intolerance, pointing to the role played by sport in this regard. He said Qatar’s hosting of the 2022 FIFA World Cup and its efforts in the sports field will contribute to the promotion of efforts to prevent violent intolerance.He reviewed the role played by the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism in this area, and said that in less than two years since the office was opened here, it has many achievements to its credit. He said there were 38 sections of the United Nations concerned in this area.
