Islamabad: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi called on Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan in Beijing on Tuesday and discussed bilateral relations including progress on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, said Radio Pakistan.
Qureshi said Pakistan desires cordial relations with all the neighbouring countries and reiterated Islamabad’s desire for a strong economic partnership with Beijing. “Pakistan will benefit from the Chinese experience in poverty alleviation and eradication of corruption,” said the foreign minister.
During a meeting with Minister International Department for Communist Party of China Song Tao in Beijing, Qureshi emphasised on strengthening ties between the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Communist Party of China.
He insisted that party level exchanges between the two nations would enhance bilateral relations as Pakistan and China agreed to enhance such exchanges in the future.
According to Qureshi, Pakistan’s political parties were on the same page regarding the CPEC. (tribune.com.pk)
