A total of 4,691 violations of the new Public Hygiene Law were registered and more than QR5 million collected as fines by the General Cleanliness Department of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment between February 2018 and the end of January 2019. Safar Mubarak al Shafi, Director of the General Cleanliness Department, said the ministry has developed a plan to monitor various violations of cleanliness through the use of surveillance cameras at the National Command Center (NCC) of the Ministry of Interior.
