The Losail Ranges are all set for the start of the Qatar Open in Shotgun, organised by the Qatar Shooting and Archery Association from February 22 (Friday) to March 2. Trap (men & women), Double Trap (men), Trap Mixed and Skeet (men & women) events will be contested by about 280 shooters, representing 38 countries. This has been the largest participation in the event so far. With this year being the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games qualifiers, many of the shotgun shooters in the world have come to test their preparations. The organising committee is headed by QSAA President Ali Mohammed al Kuwari. Abdulla Ali al Mutawa al Hammadi is the Tournament Director, Mohammed Taher is the Head of the Committee Secretariat, Hussein Saleh al Sada is the Head of the Finance Committee, Ali Saeed al Mannai is the Chairman of Jury and Gennady Solodovnikov is the Technical Expert. During a press conference, Kuwaiti shooter Abdulrahman al Faihan was also present. He has already qualified for the Tokyo Olympics and is here to assess his level. After two days of pre-event training, the finals of the Trap will be held on February 24.
