DOHA Municipality opened an art exhibition and a contest for children’s drawings under the slogan ‘Together for a clean city’, with the aim of developing artistic creativity among young people and instilling values of hygiene and environmental health in them.
The event also aimed at promoting awareness of food safety and healthy nutrition among children through art.
Doha Municipality Director Eng Jamal Mattar al Nuaimi said these events stem from the Ministry of Municipality and Environment’s belief in spreading health and environmental awareness among members of society in general and schoolchildren in particular.
Nuaimi added that the emphasis of the 18th edition of the exhibition is on the introduction of hygiene rules for a clean environment as well as on the scientific aspects and basic principles of food safety rules and their implications for public health.
The event, which will last until March 14, with the participation of some 80 schools, aims to spread awareness through art.
The event is part of the efforts of Doha Municipality in the field of hygiene and food safety, to contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the sustainable strategy of the ministry for 2018-2022 by raising a conscious generation of youth aware of the importance of cleanliness and healthy environment.
