THE multilingual Metrash 2 mobile app, launched by the Ministry of Interior (MoI) recently, is being welcomed widely by residents as it has made it much easier for them to avail themselves of the ministry’s services.
Now, the public is getting most of the Metrash 2 services in Arabic, English, French, Spanish as well as Indian languages Malayalam and Urdu through the mobile app.
The MoI services available in these languages include visa, traffic, general, residency and business permits, permit for vehicles and online payments services.
Users of Metrash2 can also request for driving licence for light vehicles and can pay the fees online in the available language of their choice.
Speaking to Qatar Tribune, an official of Human Resource Department at a leading oil and gas company said a sizeable section of the European population in Qatar is very happy with the services offered in French and Spanish languages.
Besides, services in Urdu and Malayalam are benefiting thousands of expatriates from Asian countries. An employee of a construction company that employs more than 2,000 workers from different Asian countries said, “Now a large section of the Asian population in Qatar can easily understand the steps to avail different services offered by the MoI in these languages through the Metrash 2 mobile app. The fact that the services are at our fingertips feels great.”
A social worker said that the multilingual app allows issuing replacement for lost or damaged car plate numbers and paying for the service. At a recent press conference, MoI officials had assured to update its services according to the response to the requests and suggestions of Metrash2 subscribers and users.
