The Cultural Village Foundation – Katara, in line with its commitment to preserving the heritage and culture of Qatar, will host the 8th edition of the Halal Qatar festival from February 2 to 10.
This year’s festival will feature an array of activities, including some aimed at educating people about the livestock sector in the country.
“The festival provides a flagship platform for livestock breeders in Qatar to learn more about the best practices in the sector and exchange expertise,” said Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al Sulaiti, general manager of Katara.
The festival, one of the largest of its kind in Qatar and the region, aims to reflect the authentic life of the ancestors in the Gulf countries and to educate the young generations of the significance of their lives.
The festival will also feature livestock auctions of the best breeds of goat and sheep. More than 30 stalls offering dairy, livestock products and traditional food items will enhance the traditional ambience of the festival.
The festival also features traditional handicrafts performed by professionals who will explain to the visitors how they were important in the olden days. Besides, camel and horse rides and a playground are among the other features of the festival. As part of its commitment to raising awareness among the youth of Halal Qatar festival, Katara has invited school students to visit the festival in the mornings.
