Sidra Medicine, the specialist women’s and children’s hospital, has signed its first insurance partnership agreement with Al Koot Insurance and Reinsurance Company, a leader in health insurance
in Qatar.
The agreement will provide Al Koot’s clients access to Sidra Medicine’s private medical services as part of their preferred provider network. For paediatric patients, this includes access to Sidra Medicine’s world-class specialised children’s services and multidisciplinary teams across paediatric cardiology, neurology, urology and plastics and craniofacial reconstruction.
Sidra Medicine also offers obstetrics and gynaecology services for women, and cares for pregnant women with foetal complications.
The deal marks an important step for Sidra Medicine as it is able to sign an agreement with a leading insurance provider only two months after its official grand opening in November 2018.
Peter Morris, CEO of Sidra Medicine, said: “I am absolutely delighted at working with Al Koot and we look forward to providing care for Al Koot’s clients. As a Qatar Foundation entity, it is only fitting that our first agreement is with a leading health insurance provider in this country which works with some of the top Qatari organisations.”
Ahmed Rafee al Emadi, CEO of Al Koot, commented: “We are glad to have this agreement with Sidra Medicine, which is a world-class organisation in Qatar. This partnership will make a significant difference to our insured members who need specialised care. Previously, many patients had to travel abroad for specialist paediatric treatments. But, the addition of Sidra Medicine as one of our care providers means patients have access to world-class care at their doorsteps. It is a real testament to Qatar’s pioneering spirit and sustained commitment to its human and social development.”
Al Koot Insurance and Reinsurance Company’s partnership with Sidra Medicine for its existing clients who live in Qatar means that they now have direct billing access for Sidra Medicine services, which are not considered public, including
maternity services.
