The Information and Cultural Affairs Committee of the Shura Council, at a meeting on Tuesday, completed the study of the request submitted by a number of council members for general debate on education.
The meeting was chaired by the committee’s Rapporteur Mohamed bin Ali bin Sultan al Ali al Maadid.
The Committee decided to complete consideration of the request at its
next meeting.
Meanwhile, the Economic and Financial Affairs Committee under its Rapporteur Ali bin Abd al Latif al Misnad al Muhanadi completed the study of a draft law to set customs duties on iron types similar to those produced by Qatar Steel Company.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Finance and the General Authority of Customs (GAC).
The representatives are Director of GAC’s Legal Affairs Department Abdulaziz Trad Alhathal, Head of GAC’s Customs and Tariffs Section Hussein Ali al Marri, Assistant Director of Economic Policy and Research Department Maryam Ibrahim al Sada and Assistant Director of Financial Policy Nasser Ahmed Obaidan.
They responded to the committee’s queries.
The committee then decided to submit its recommendations to the
Shura Council.
