Qatar slams Kabul,
Nairobi attacks
THE State of Qatar has expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the bombing which targeted a compound inhabited by foreign workers in the Afghan capital of Kabul, causing deaths and leaving dozens wounded. Qatar also expressed its strong condemnation of the attack that targeted a hotel and office complex in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi, killing and injuring several people. In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Qatar’s firm stance rejecting violence and terrorism regardless of the motives and causes. The statement expressed Qatar’s condolences to the family of the victim, wishing the injured a speedy recovery. (QNA)

Chairman of Qatar Media Corporation HE Sheikh Hamad bin Thamer al Thani met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to the State of Qatar HE Fikret Ozer in Doha on Tuesday. During the meeting, they discussed media relations between the two countries and the means of enhancing them. (QNA)
Sri Lankan president meets Qatari ambassador
President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka Maithripala Sirisena met with Qatar’s Ambassador to Sri Lanka HE Dr Rashid bin Shafea al Marri. The ambassador conveyed the Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani’s greetings and wishes of good health and happiness to the president. Sirisena entrusted the ambassador to convey his greetings to HH the Amir, wishing him good health and the State of Qatar continuous progress, development and prosperity. During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations, the ways of developing them and a number of issues of common interest. (QNA)
