Companies operating in Qatar are well-guarded against potential cyber-attacks, but need constant vigilance against ever-evolving cybercriminals, said Cezary Murawski, the general manager of information security leader Remah.
“The companies in Qatar are good when it comes to employing precautions against hack attacks,” Murawski said, while addressing a roundtable on what the company can contribute towards the IT and telecom security in Qatar.
“But cybercriminals are evolving everyday to come up with new ways to breach data security systems, however fortified they are. The hackers will be relentless because that is their only job,” he added.
Murawski said it was up to the companies to “stay ahead of the game”.
A 100-percent Qatari company that started its operations in 2016, Remah offers firms in the country — and their subsidiaries around the world — what it calls a “360° Security Services” among others.
“If your data is valuable enough, it can be stolen. Our approach is to make it as difficult as possible for an attacker to steal any valuable information by designing systems that not only detect and deter known attacks but also that detect breaches in security by unknown exploits, and to have a system in place to quickly react to any breach in a manner that minimizes the damage,” Murawski said.
One of the specialties of Remah is system operations centre (SOC) services, where its team of security analysts work together to detect, analyse and respond to cyber-attacks.
“The company’s SOC Services are designed to help with resourcing challenges. These services are redefined security operations to meet the next generation of emerging cyber threats, which are usually based on hybrid model combining on-site (usually existing) and off-site teams.
These services address a need of access to advanced know-how with the ability of participation in monitoring and response activities, he added.
“Our vision, as an information and data security leader, is to provide world-class, innovative, value-added services and guidance to our customers and establish a regional position of leadership,” Murawski said.
