There’s some good news for the residents of densely-populated Al Muntazah!
The Al Muntazah Park, which has been closed for years, is now on course for renovation.
The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) will develop it for the first time after nearly two decades of closure, according an official source.
The tender for the design of the project was submitted through the official website of Ashghal, the source added.
The park’s name was changed twice from Al Muntazah to the Rawdat Al Khail and Al Muntazah again.
A total of four public parks, including Al Muntazah, will be renovated by the Ashghal, the source said. While two new parks will come up in Umm Al Seneem and Al Gharafa, the parks in Al Muntazah and Ras Abu Oboud will be renovated.
All the required formalities will be processed within 15 days and the initial design will be completed within
60 days.
The detailed design and approvals will be completed within a maximum of 120 days and the project will start after 165 days, the source added.
Umm Al Seneem is one of the new populated areas and it is home to many health and education facilities. The area is also seeing many infrastructure projects such as roads and drainage lines. The new park will offer green space for recreation and leisure for the rising population in the area.
Though Al Gharafa boasts of two parks -- the new Al Gharafa Park on Azghwa Street and a small garden for families – the opening of new park will come as a boon for the residents of the area.Ashghal adopts design of the park for the first time.
