Radio Olive 106.3 FM and Radio Suno 91.7 FM celebrated Qatar National Day with the nationals and the expatriate communities in Qatar.
The celebrations commenced at Lusail Sports city with a cultural parade by more than 7,000 students from 18 Asian Schools in Qatar. Radio jockeys from ‘Qatar’s number 1 Hindi Radio station’ Radio Olive and ‘Qatar’s Favourite Malayalam Radio Station’ Radio Suno were present at the Handball Auditorium in Lusail Sports complex to capture the mega event organised by Ministry of interior (MoI) in association will all the Asian schools.
Radio Olive and Radio Suno also ensured that listeners were kept entertained and informed about all the activities at the main venue Corniche through on air and on line live updates.
Several associated activities, cultural shows and awareness events were held at Asian Town and Wakra Sports Club by the MoI in association with various expatriate communities. The international cricket tournament at Asian town cricket stadium with the participation of players from Asian countries was one of the major highlights. Live updates from the cricket stadium were sent out to the listeners by the Radio Olive and Radio Suno team members who were present at the venue throughout the event to interact with the spectators.
The listeners of both the stations conveyed their special wishes on the occasion and shared their feelings for Qatar through the stations.
“The overwhelming response from both the nationals and the expatriate communities has made us the number one radio station in Qatar. So, it is our responsibility to keep the nation entertained, informed and updated through our shows,” said Ameer Ali, managing director, Olive Suno Radio Network. (TNN)
