The annual Darb Al Saai festivities celebrating the Qatar National Day will feature more pavilions for government and public entities and more entertainment programmes and eateries than previous years.
The event will highlight the rich cultural heritage of Qatar and its evolution as a modern state.
Bigger and wider pavilion of Qatar General Electricity and Water Coorporation (Kahramaa) and Qatar University will be the highlight of the festival this year.
Darb Al Saai, a unique feature of the Qatar National Day celebrations, attracts huge public attention with its diverse and rich blend of activities.
“We have expanded the venue this year to accommodate more participants and offer wider space for each participant. The preparations for the festival are in the final stages and everything, including parking area, will be ready for the festivities as per scheduled,” a member of the organising team told Qatar Tribune.
A total of 18 eateries offering varieties of cuisines and several food kiosks spread across the venue will be the other attraction. Visitors will enjoy a variety of events and activities that cater to all categories and age groups.
Pavilions of Ministry of Interior, Civil Defence, Community Police and wide range military vehicles on display will also attract large number of visitors.
Apart from government and public entities, there will be special programmes for expatriate communities.
Replica of traditional Arab market that offers handicrafts and models of traditional Qatari villages featuring traditional domestic properties and their life prior to the era of oil and gas are likely to be the most visited spots during the festival. An area dedicated to camels and other animals will be another attraction of Darb Al-Saai during the National Day festivities, which will conclude on December 20.
