Russia’s Constitutional Court approves of controversial land swap

Moscow: Russia’s Constitutional Court expressed approval on Thursday for a land swap between the southern Russian regions of Chechnya and Ingushetia following protests over the deal.
The agreement to alter the regions’ shared border does not contradict Russia’s constitution because regional authorities are entitled to define districts, the court said in a statement. (DPA)
