ELITE Academy, organised and hosted by QatarDebate Center (QD), a member of Qatar Foundation (QF), started at Education City's Student Center with 12 participants from Tunisia, Kuwait, Oman, France, Sudan and Qatar. The event will continue till November 24.
During the two previous stages of Elite Academy, the participants were evaluated according to different criteria to be promoted to the current stage (Stage 3).
The academy was launched as part of QD's efforts to provide practical training for youth by developing their skills in training, coaching and organising.
In addition, Elite academy members will contribute to Doha Forum: Youth Edition, which is one of the most important events in QD's 2018 calendar, as it focuses on the importance of dialogue in addressing contemporary issues and current challenges. The forum will see participation of youths from different backgrounds and cultures to discuss trending topics and issues from around the world.
Commenting on 'Elite Academy 3', Abdulrahman al Subaie, head of Outreach Program at QatarDebate said:"Elite Academy is designed for two purposes. The first is to transform the participants from debater to debate instructor and develop their skills so that they are able to create training programmes. The second purpose is to prepare the participants to be international judges in the 5th International Arabic Universities Debating Championship 2019.
