THE Argentinian minister of foreign affairs accompanied by a trade mission including representatives from diverse sectors such as energy, food, hospitality and infrastructure will be visiting Doha soon to explore bilateral cooperation and strengthen ties further between Qatar and Argentina, the Argentinian Ambassador to Qatar HE Carlos Hernandez said on Thursday.
Addressing a press conference, Hernandez said that the preparations are on for the visit, which is likely to take place on December 10 this year. He added,"The minister of foreign affairs of Argentina along with a trade and commerce mission will visit Qatar including experts and the biggest investors in the fields of energy, food industry, agri-industry, hospitality, mining, infrastructure and airports."
Describing ties with Qatar as 'strategic' the ambassador said:"We will work hard to break the blockade on Qatar", referring to the various commercial partnership agreements that were expected from the visit.
"We are also aiming to increase our exports to Qatar including all kinds of products and most probably we will sign an agreement on civil aviation to create new new routes to boost the trade exchange", he added further.
The envoy said that the visit will be very important for both countries and their future and see agreements in the diplomatic field as well. He noted further that a direct flight between Doha and Buenos Aires is also being contemplated after the Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani showed interest in the same during HH's recent visit to Argentina.
