Aspire Zone CEO Mohammed al Suwaidi says Aspetar will also be on site; Aspire, pride of Qatar: Ali al Hitmi

Aspire Dome, the world's largest indoor multi-purpose dome, will play host to the 48th Artistic Gymnastics World Championships that Doha is set to stage this week from October 25 for the first time in the Middle East.
The World Championship, which serves as the first qualification event for Tokyo 2020 Olympics, is the world's biggest gymnastics competition.
On Sunday, the Local Organising Committee of the Doha World Championships signed a partnership agreement with Aspire Foundation by Ali al Hitmi, Executive Manager of the Organising Committee and President, Qatar Gymnastics Federation and Mohammed al Suwaidi, the CEO of Aspire Foundation.
Speaking on the occasion, Hitmi, said,"We are very proud to sign this partnership agreement with Aspire Zone Foundation which has provided us with unlimited support. This relationship has ensured us that we are able to stage a world-class championship. The team at Aspire is providing us with logistics support to ensure the best services for the athletes and officials at the competition venue. We thank Aspire and its facilities for their continuous support.
"This pioneering institution - Aspire, which is Qatar's pride, has inspired us to strive for sporting given their unlimited support. When we met with Mr. Al Suwaidi, we got a great moral boost to deliver these championships the way we wanted. We are keen for this event to achieve to outstanding success in a manner worthy of Qatar and its international reputation in hosting major sporting events," he added.
Mohammed al Suwaidi, said,""We will do our best to stage a special event that will represent Qatar in the best way possible. Aspetar, the medical partner of the World Championships is also on site at Aspire Zone and will provide medical services. We would like to thank the Organising Committee who are working round the clock to stage an exceptional and successful event and wish everyone the best."
He added that Aspire is also proud that two of their Academy athletes will represent Qatar at the championships."Our national champions Ahmad al Dayani and Ahmed al Nabil are participating at the championships and wish them all success."
The Aspire Dome has the capacity to host 13 different sporting events simultaneously.
As part of Aspire Zone, it previously hosted the Asian Games in 2006, the 2010 IAAF World Indoor Championships, the 2011 Arab Games as well as an annual event in the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup series since 2009.
Qatar is the first Arab country to host the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships. Only Japan and China have organised it in Asia.
With more than 600 athletes from 78 different nations participating, the venue has set up six training halls, a warm-up hall and the competition hall all under Aspire Dome.
In addition, the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) had a requirement of a minimum of 6,000 seats for the World Championships and as a result 800 seats have been added to the venue.
A fan zone area has also been set up allowing spectators to optimise their experience during the championships. Now, days away from the opening ceremony, preparations are in the final stages to welcome gymnasts, officials and spectators to the Aspire Dome.

Ready for the start: Al Buainain
Abeer Ali al Buainain, the Director of Operations, Planning & HR at the Organising Committee confirmed that the preparations for the start of Doha Worlds have reached the final stage. Speaking on the sidelines of the event, she said, “We have ensured that all requirements have been met inkeeping with the world standard and we thank Aspire for their full support towards making the event a big success,” she said.
“The main hall at the venue is now fully ready and we hope it will dazzle the athletes and spectators alike around the world. The equipment we have installed and the lighting arrangements made have been praised by the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG).
“We are also glad that Qatar will also be participating in the management and arbitration of the tournament and we are ready with the rest of the referees to ensure and enhance the success of the championship,” she added.
