The Cabinet on Wednesday approved a draft law on regulating the production and trade of organic agricultural and animal products in the country. It also seeks to improve the quality of organic goods in line with the international specifications.
Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al Thani chaired the meeting at the Amiri Diwan.
The provisions of the law will be applicable to all people engaged in the production, manufacturing, processing, trading, import and export of organic inputs and products. It will also apply to licensed production units.
The Cabinet also approved a draft decree on Common Customs Tariff.
