Qatar Charity (QC) held two photography workshops, one for male participants and another one for female participants, to teach them the basics of photography and train them on how to capture photos.
The workshops have been organised as part of the events within QC's 'Soqya' campaign, with the aim to show the beauty of nature available due to water through photos, in addition to raising awareness about the importance of water.
Mohammed al Yafie, a professional photographer, taught the participants, both male and female, the basics of photography and trained them how to take photos practically. Then, the participants took many pictures that reflect the content of the 'Soqya' campaign.
During the workshops, the participants also came to know more about the activities and events organised by Qatar Charity.
The photos taken by the participants during their training sessions have been collected and will be presented at the closing ceremony of the programme at the end of this month.
The participants expressed their pleasure over attending the workshops, which have provided them with the opportunity to learn the basics of photography and to know more about the importance of water.
Earlier, Qatar Charity (QC) has distributed water bottles to some 2,300 labourers from Boom Construction Company as part of the implementation of its projects entitled 'Soqya Al Ummal', which literally means giving water to labourers.
The water distribution was made in a ceremony, which was attended by officials from the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs and Aster Medical Centre. Besides, volunteers from 'O Type' and 'Qatari Awareness' initiatives participated in the distribution of water bottles to works
Qatar Charity also organised many workshops as part of 'Soqya' campaign for children to educate them about the importance of water.
Soqya Al-Ummal aims at serving labourers through distribution of cold water and juices bottles to them in their workplaces in order to protect them from the summer heat and enhance contact between benefactors and this segment of the local community via Qatar Charity.
It also aims at involving local institutions, youth, university and school students in such charitable work to appreciate the continuous efforts and outstanding roles played by workers in building the country and in its urban and industrial development.
