Doha Institute for Graduate Studies has signed a cooperation agreement with the University of Jordan to strengthen academic ties, promote scientific research and establish partnership aimed at finding mechanisms to establish an effective programme for academic cooperation.
The agreement was signed by Acting President of Doha Institute for Graduate Studies Dr Yasser Maali and President of the University of Jordan Dr Abdel-Karim al Qudah.
Under the agreement, the Institute will offer scholarships to the university's students in various fields of study and research, Dr Yasser Maali said, explaining that the grants will not exceed two years and will cover the expenses of study and accommodation, in addition to health coverage and flight tickets.
The beneficiaries of the scholarships, who will be announced at the beginning of the fall of each year, are students with a 'very good' grade and above in the bachelor's degree who have obtained a score of 520 in the TOEFL or 5.5 in the ILETS.
On his part, Dr Qudah said the agreement will enable distinguished students who have a bachelor's degree to pursue their higher education in the Institute in various fields, such as social and human sciences, public administration, economics of development, psychology, social work, conflict management and humanitarian work.
