The Law No 13 of 2018 amending some provisions of the Law No 21 of 2015 on the regulation of entry, exit and residence of the expatriates will come into force on October 28, the joint committee for coordination between the Ministry of Interior (MoI) and the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs (MADLSA) has announced.
The MADLSA called on employers and establishments, subject to the provisions of the Labour Law No 14 of 2004, to identify their employees who will require prior approval to leave the country due to the nature of their work and to submit the list to the ministry's website. This category of employees should not be more than five percent of the total employees, according to the law.
According to the new law, an expatriate worker covered under Labour Law No 14 for 2004 has the right to temporarily exit the country, or for good, at any time throughout the duration of his/her employment contract without an exit permit.
