A total of 1,311 impounded vehicles will be sold off if the owners fail to claim their cars after the due date for paying penalties, a top traffic department official has said.
Lt-Col Hamad Saleh al Ghaizh, Investigations Officer at the Traffic Investigation Department of the General Directorate of Traffic, said the impounded vehicles should be received by owners after the due date to pay penalties."In case, the legal period ends and the vehicle owner don't turn up to receive his car, the General Directorate of Traffic will then put up the cars for auction, which will be announced later," he added.
The official said General Directorate of Traffic has called on the owners of the impounded vehicles, which have been in custody for three months and above, to pay the penalties and take them before October 1.
The penalty has to be paid at the Search and Investigation Section at Industrial Area Street No (52).
