QATAR Rangers motorcycle team, a leading motorcycle group, will on October 1 organise a motorcycle tour from the Empowerment and Elderly Care Centre (Ehsan) to Katara to raise awareness on the services of the Ehsan Centre in support of the elderly persons.
To be held in collaboration with Qatar Centre for Motorcycles and the Ehsan Centre, the tour aims to raise awareness on the new centres opened by Ehsan and to introduce the social services they provide.
Qatar Rangers Motorcycle team's Ashraf Qaddoumi said there will be a grand motorbike march on October 1, on the occasion of the International Day for Elderly Persons to raise awareness about this group of the society.
"This is an initiative by Qatar Rangers team and we will invite all the motorcyclists in Qatar. It comes after our successful motorbike march in Ramadan (5/6) to commemorate the unjust blockade imposed on Qatar," he added.
Ashraf added that there will also be a grand open day for families at Al Shahhaniya Sports Club on October 21 for motorbike training and to raise awareness about the safe riding of motorcycles.
"The open day is free for everyone and it is an initiative by Qatar Rangers and Batabit Centre to educate the public about safety behaviours while riding motorbikes. We will provide free training for people and there will be a lot of entertainment and fun activities for the families," he added.
Ghanim al Kubeisi, manager of Batabit Centre which belongs to the Ministry of Culture and Sports, said the centre welcomed these activities as they gather all the motorcyclists under one umbrella for a good cause.
He also thanked the members of Qatar Rangers team for their constant effort to promote this sport and maintain safety and awareness.
The Qatar Rangers team is conducting monthly training on motorbikes for bikers around Qatar to enhance the culture of safe driving and to urge motorcyclists to acquire licence and obey the traffic rules.
