Qatar has underlined that the illegal use of unilateral coercive measures such as the siege imposed on Doha by some of its neighbouring countries aims to undermine international laws, violating human rights.
Speaking at the United Nations in Geneva, Deputy Permanent Representative of Qatar to the UN in Geneva, Abdullah al Nuaimi , said Qatar reiterates the need for countries to adhere, in their foreign relations, to principles of international law concerning friendly relations and cooperation between them as well as have full respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity and political independence.
He highlighted the importance of refraining from the use of unilateral coercive measures that would have long-term negative consequences for human rights, could obstruct trade relations and impede the right to development.
