Al Dosari Park & Nature Reserve plans array of Eid activities

AL Dosari Park & Nature Reserve in Al Shehaniya is gearing up to receive a large number of visitors during the Eid Al Adha celebrations.
The park, which underwent a makeover recently, with inclusion of more facilities and services such as night-stay cottages, as well as animals, has emerged as a popular destination for residents of Qatar to spend holidays.
Speaking to Qatar Tribune from Sudan, Mohamed Aldosari, the director of the Park, said:"We have planned an array of events for the visitors at the park on the occasion of Eid. On the second day of Eid, we have planned various cultural programmes. Traditional Arab dance and magic show will be one of the highlights of the programme."
According to Aldosari, the park will be open from 7am to 7pm for public during the Eid holidays. The park will also be open on the first day of Eid at its regular timing.
Aldosari added,"The cottages have elevated the park. Located close to the animal safari park, the cottages make the park an ideal tourist destination for all seasons. Visitors have the experience of being in a nature reserve in a desert."
Aldosari further remarked that the park facilitates preparation of barbeque and engage in other entertainment activities for the visitors.
According to him, opening of new roads and flyovers has made the park more attractive and accessible for people.
Member of an expatriate family said,"Al Dosari Park & Nature Reserve is an ideal entertainment destination for all categories and age groups of people. The presence of a wide variety of animals at the zoo and other entertainment activities make the park one of the favourite places for children."
The park, which is visited by over 150,000 people annually, also features an animal safari park, a zoo, an amusement park as well as heritage and maritime museums. In addition, the visitors are offered animal ride around the park.
The animal safari park, which is spread over more than 10 acres of land, features a wide variety of animals such as different kinds of oryx, trees and water bodies.
