The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani has issued directives that will see Qatar provide a host of economic projects, investments and deposits worth QR55 billion ($15 billion) to support the Turkish economy.
The pledge came during a meeting between the Amir and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the Presidential Complex in Ankara on Wednesday.
The Amir and the Turkish President discussed strategic bilateral relations and ways to enhance cooperation in all areas, especially in economic and investment fields.
The Amir and Erdogan also discussed the latest regional and international developments, and exchanged views on them.
Both sides stressed on the importance of resolving differences through dialogue and diplomatic channels to maintain region's peace and stability.
In a tweet, Erdogan said:"Today, we had a fruitful and positive meeting with my brother the Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani, who came to our country as part of a working visit. On behalf of the Turkish people, I sincerely thank Sheikh Tamim and the Qatari people for standing by Turkey. There is no doubt that our strong relations with the friendly and brotherly state of Qatar will continue to evolve in many areas."
