PAKISTANI community members organised functions at different locations across Qatar to mark their country's Independence Day.
Insaf Professional Forum, Qatar Chapter, organised a function titled 'Muhafiz-e-Pakistan' in Al Waab area to pay tributes to the national heroes. Members of Pakistan Bikers Association (PBA) and a large number of Pakistanis attended the event. Coordinator of Insaf Professional Forum, Qatar Chapter,Qaiser Malik Awan welcomed the guests and paid glowing tributes to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the protection of their motherland.
Pakistan Embassy's Commercial Secretary Salman Ali and Defence Attach` Commodore Irfan Taj were present on the occasion. Community members decorated their heavy motorcycles and cars with Pakistani and Qatari flags and toured the city while chanting slogans expressing their solidarity with the country. A large cake was also cut to mark the occasion.
Pakistani community members organised another function at Al Bida Tower. Samantha Sifah, head of Community Outreach, Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, accompanied by Pakistani community leaders Riyaz Bakali, Ashraf Siddiqui, Syed Ali Naqvi and Chaudhary Tahir Mahmoud cut a cake to mark the occasion.
The Punjab Music Group also organised an event at Modern Asian Restaurant. ApooWorld Chairman Sheikh Zahid was the chief guest at the event. Chief Organiser Nazakat Ali Khan welcomed the guests. Pakistani visiting singer Nasir Abbas presented a patriotic song 'Dil, Dil Pakistan'. Atiq Rashid, Sheraj Ali Khan, Mohamed Yawer Hussain, Amir Butt, Mohinder Jalandary, Mohammad Akram Bangash, Waqas Amjad, Ijaz Ali Hira and Aurangzeb were prominent among those who attended the celebrations.
