The ongoing Gulf crisis must be resolved within the GCC framework without involving a third party, Russian Ambassador to Qatar HE Nurmakhmad Kholov has said.
In an interview with Qatar Tribune, the envoy said Russia urges all parties to the conflict to sit down at the negotiating table as soon as possible and resolve all the problems by way of an equitable and mutually respectful dialogue.
"Russia is a reliable partner of Doha both in matters of bilateral and international cooperation. Hence, it is natural that Qatar may want Russia's more active role in the resolution of the ongoing crisis with its Arab neighbours," Kholov said.
"To sum it up, we are confident that there is every reason to believe that the multifaceted ties between Russia and Qatar will gain strength further," he added.
