SUMMER activities for youngsters have commenced at Smaisma Youth Center.
As part of the activities of the first week of summer events, the centre organised a course on the use of motorcycles and all terrain vehicles in collaboration with the Qatar Motorcycle Center.
Sultan al Kuwari, executive director of Smaisma Youth Center, said:"The launch of summer activities in the centre comes in line with the strategy of the Ministry of Culture and Sports to empower young people and improve their talents."
He said the course on how to use motorcycles is one of the most attractive courses for young people.
"We seek to repeat this session in every summer activity and we aim to meet the wishes of the participants. The cooperation with the management of the Qatar Motorcycle Center has a tremendous effect on the event. We thank them for good cooperation in the service of youth and homeland."
A number of technical activities, including a course in the teaching of glass painting techniques supervised by Yousef al Rayani, have also become a major traction for young people. This course is simplified and outside the academic framework. Such courses are designed to discover and develop the talents of the participants.
He pointed out that the summer programme includes a package of activities and events that meet the requirements of young people to fill their leisure time and develop their abilities and talents during the summer vacation.
Summer activities were also held at the Smaisma Girls' Forum earlier this month, which will continue until mid-August.
The Smaisma Girls' Forum will open the registration for the summer programme, religious, cultural, artistic, sports and health activities for participants from the age of seven years and above.
