Written message from president of Ukraine
THE Amir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani received a written message from President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko pertaining to bilateral relations between the two countries and ways of supporting and developing them. The message was received by Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs HE Dr Ahmed bin Hassan al Hammadi during his meeting with Ambassador of Ukraine to Qatar HE Yevhen Mykytenko on Monday. Muraikhi meets Mongolian officials
MINISTER of State for Foreign Affairs HE Sultan bin Saad al Muraikhi met separately on Monday with Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Damdin Tsogtbaatar and Senior Adviser to the Prime Minister of Mongolia B. Enkh-Amgalan, during his visit to Mongolia. Talks during the meetings covered the bilateral relations and ways of enhancing them, as well as issues of mutual concern. The meetings were attended by Qatar's non-resident Ambassador to Mongolia HE Sultan bin Salmeen al Mansouri. (QNA)

Qatar condemns Afghanistan blast
QATAR has strongly condemned and denounced the explosion in Jalalabad, east of Afghanistan, which left a number of people dead and wounded. In a statement on Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Qatar's firm stance rejecting violence and terrorism regardless of motives and causes. The statement expressed Qatar's condolences to the families of victims as well as the government and people of Afghanistan, wishing the injured a speedy recovery. (QNA)

Qatar condemns Kirkuk bombing
QATAR expressed its strong condemnation of the bombing which targeted the warehouses of the Independent High Electoral Commission in the province of Kirkuk in northern Iraq, killing one person and wounding others. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Monday that Qatar rejects attempts to harm the Iraqi electoral process, and affirmed its full solidarity with the Iraqi government in all measures taken to maintain security and stability. The statement reiterated Qatar's firm stance on rejecting violence and terrorism regardless of its motives and reasons. The statement expressed Qatar's condolences to the victims' families, the government and the people of Iraq, and wishes of speedy recovery for the wounded. (QNA)

Foreign ministry holds farewell event
for ambassadors
SECRETARY-GENERAL of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs HE Dr Ahmed bin Hassan al Hammadi held a farewell ceremony on Monday in honour of the Ambassador of Brunei to Qatar HE Haji Nordin Bin Haji Ahmad, Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina HE Tarik Sadovic and Ambassador of Portugal HE Antonio Manuel Moreira Tanger Correa on the occasion of the end of their tenure in the country. The ceremony, at the Diplomatic Club, was attended by a number of heads of diplomatic missions and representations accredited of Qatar, as well as directors of departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. MEC recalls Jaguar XF, XE & F-PACE models
THE Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC), in collaboration with Alfardan Premier Motors, dealer of Jaguar vehicles in Qatar, has announced the recall of Jaguar XF, XE and F-PACE models of 2018 over possible fuel rail leak.
The ministry said the recall comes within its ongoing efforts to protect consumers and ensure that car dealers follow up on vehicle defects and repairs.
The ministry also said that it would coordinate with the dealer to follow up on the maintenance and repair works and would communicate with customers to ensure that the necessary repairs are carried out.
The ministry has urged all customers to report any violation to its Consumer Protection and Anti-Commercial Fraud Department, which processes complaints, inquires and suggestions through Call Center: 16001, email: [email protected], Twitter: @MEC_Qatar, Instagram: MEC_Qatar and mobile app for Android and IOS: MEC_Qatar.
