The Summer Entertainment City at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center has become a perfect weekend getaway for Qatar residents since it opened to the public on the first day of Eid Al Fitr celebrations a week ago.
Featuring a number of rides, the venue has also an 18-hole mini-golf course, an ice skating rink, skill games, video games, as well as live entertainment shows and mini zoo.
On Thursday, the venue was choc-a bloc with visitors. Visitors got a chance to watch bubble shows, magic shows, fire shows and gymnastics. Assorted items at the Souq section were also on offer for visitors to buy.
The Summer Entertainment City is part of the ongoing Qatar Summer Festival organised by Qatar Tourism Authority.
Speaking to Qatar Tribune on Thursday, QSports Founder and Board Member Adil Ahmed said,"We expect a big crowd of 5,000 visitors on Friday. Our campaigns are very aggressive for the weekends."
The Summer Entertainment City received up to 20,000 visitors until Thursday but by the time the weekend was over the venue would have crossed over 25,000 visitors.
Yasmine, who visited the venue, said,"My children are enjoying here. It is a wonderful venue with world-class entertainment activities under one roof."
The Summer Entertainment City opens daily from 2pm to 11pm. An individual entry ticket costs QR15 and a day pass is for QR150. The festival runs until August 31.
