Doha
Big screens, a raucous crowd and cheers for the Brazilian team filled the air on Sunday at the Radisson Blu sports bar in Doha.
Brazil took on Switzerland and their superiority was evident with the most expensive footballer Neymar putting on a show despite just recovering in time from a foot surgery.
A lot of Brazilian jerseys were on display at the fan zone - designed with the World Cup mascot, goal post and soccer balls on the wall.
Brazilian supporter Ahmad said the game was all he thought about."I have been waiting for this game since the 2018 World Cup began. Neymar is my favourite player and he has been able to show his worth so far."
Colombian artist Juan, he supports all South American teams and hopes to be in Qatar in 2022."I just love it here man," he says."I want to be here when this spectacle comes to Doha. Nothing beats the World Cup, not even the Olympics."
Brazil scored from a brilliant Coutinho curler in the first half. The Brazilian supporter were however in for a shock. Neymar was constantly fouled by the Swiss defence, knowing how dangerous he can be.
In the second half, Switzerland equalised which drained the noise in the fan zone.
Kevin from England said he had Switzerland as the dark horse in the competition - an unlikely proclamation that proved true as the game ended 1-1.
Juan said,"This World Cup has been full of surprises. Who would have thought Germany would lose today and Brazil dropping points against Switzerland. They have to do better in the next game."
Emotions were bound in the fan zone, but many felt this was the beginning of more shocking results in the 2018 World Cup.
