The College of Business and Economics (QU-CBE) hosted a series of guest lectures for Marketing Management students in the MBA programme.
The initiative aimed to provide students with the opportunity to learn from practitioners. Lectures were delivered by marketing executives from national and international institutions.
The lectures series started at the beginning of Spring 2018. They included a talk by Qatar Airways V-P (Marketing) Brian Ashby, in which he discussed the marketing strategy adapted by the company. Another lecture was presented by Ooredoo Group Chief Commercial Officer Fatima al Kuwari, who discussed the Ooredoo branding strategy and the challenges the group faces in managing the brand at a global level.
Other lectures were delivered by Sasol Qatar GM (Public Affairs) Jack Saba, who shared his journey with Sasol CSR programme in Qatar; Mosafer Business Managing Director Charbel Mansour, who discussed the key success factors behind Qatar brand ability to compete globally; and Qatar Olympics Committee Sports Marketing and Communication expert Maher Safi, who highlighted the strategic marketing efforts undertaken by different sports organisations in Qatar to promote the country as a sports hub and touristic destination.
CBE Associate Professor (Marketing) Dr Rana Sobh said,"One of my objectives as I teach the marketing management course is to link theory to practice and bring students closer to the business world. Students greatly benefit from the expertise of executives in the field of marketing, which prepares them for leadership careers in marketing and business."
