President of Centre for Indian Community (CIC) K C Abdul Latheef has called on all members of the community to make concerted effort to boost social integration and communal harmony.
Delivering a keynote address at a ceremony to release Perunnal Nilavu, a special publication brought out by Media Plus, Latheef urged the audience to take advantage of celebrations like Eid to foster fraternity and amity in the society.
"Oneness of humanity and social values are the cardinal principles of all religions and there is no reason for any sorts of enmity and hatred between the followers of various religions. The very purpose of fasting was to make man more pious and humane," he said.
He added,"We are living in a world where mutual misunderstanding among various religious communities is widening. The scope for communal amity and tolerance is to be utilised. Eid is an occasion to exchange human love and integrity."
He exhorted the audience to use the occasion effectively and to be the apostles of peace and tranquillity.
He released Perunnal Nilavu published by Media Plus, a local advertising and event management company by handing over a copy to P N Babu Rajan, vice-president of Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF).
Acon Group Ventures chairman Dr Shukkur Kinalur chaired the function.
Dreams 5 Managing Director Alu K Mohammed, M P Group Managing Director Dr M P Shafi Haji, Professional Business Group Managing Director Ali Hassan Hudavi, Vitamin Palace Regional Director Abubacker Siddeeq and Sign In CEO Shan spoke on the occasion.
The event was also attended by a number of prominent personalities, including Managing Director of Goodwill Cargo Muhammed Noushad Aboo, K C Baiju, general manager of Eastern exchange, Salim mohiddin, sales planning and activation manager of Clickon, P K Mustafa, managing director of PK Star Group, and Cheril Philip, sales manager of Doha Star trading.
Media Plus CEO Dr Amanulla Vadakkangara conducted the event.
He highlighted the importance of promoting the idea of peaceful coexistence and underlined that celebrations are the ideal occasions for ensuring such humanitarian endeavours.
