Qatar Foundation's (QF's) Pre-University Education (PUE) has opened the registration for its Education City Summer Camp 2018, sponsored by the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC), to be held at Awsaj Academy June 24 to July 19.
The camp, open to children aged between 5 and 12 years, aims to invest students' spare time in programmes and creative activities in a secure educational environment that promotes character building in students, allowing them to explore their talents and different capabilities.
The Education City Summer Camp 2018 will include a visit to the Qatar National Library to explore its collections and attend workshops on technology; a study of seeds and plants through the 'Young Farmers Program', which will be delivered by the Qur'anic Botanic Garden, a QF member; practical fun hands-on scientific experiments; horse-riding lessons at Al Shaqab; and a workshop on the benefits of teamwork delivered by the SC.
Abeeral Khalifa, academic affairs' executive director, PUE, QF, commended the strategic partnership between PUE and the SC. She also expressed gratitude to the SC for its remarkable sponsorship for the second year running. She also appreciated the participating organisations, requesting others to collaborate and work together with the EC Summer Camp, which will continue to be held every year.
Hissa al Kubaisi, co-curriculum programme manager, said students will have an opportunity for volunteering during this summer camp, following the success of last years' programme. It is an opportunity for students to enhance their communication and problem solving skills.
Mead al Emadi, outreach project manager, SC, expressed her delight at the continuing partnership between Generation Amazing and Qatar Foundation in organising the second Education City Summer Camp.
