Khalifa al Attiyah and Badr al Marri led their respective categories in the Nishan Championship at the Losail Ranges, after putting up impressive performances.
Attiyah topped the professionals having collected 372 points. Misfer al Marri is in the second spot, while Mohammed al Yafei occupies the third place.
Badr al Marri led the amateur class with a tally of 340 points. Rashid al Nahdi and Henan Masrovic are holding the second and third places, respectively.
Over 120 participants are in the fray of the QR300,000 event, organised by the Qatar Shooting and Archery Association. The athletes who gets the maximum points after five events in archery and shooting, will be rewarded in both the classes. The winners will earn QR60,000 each.
Meanwhile QSAA President Ali Mohammed al Kuwari said the Qatari shooters will try to make the most of the upcoming qualifying events to ensure their participation in the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
He said the Qatari team would contest in four major world level events this year to gain qualification points in addition to the 2019 Asian Championship, to be hosted by Doha in November.
Qatar will also stage the Arab Shooting Championships in November this year.
He added that a busy schedule is lined for the local shooters."The Qatar team, after an extensive training, will take part in the Asian Games in Jakarta in August to September with an aim to earn maximum possible medals.

The QSAA president said that after Qatar's participation in Asiad, the teams will travel directly to South Korea to participate in the world championship, followed by participation in the Asian Shotgun Championship in Kuwait and then preparations to compete in the Arab championships in Qatar.
