THE Turkish-Qatari relations are very unique and extend to many fields including security in general and in preparation of the FIFA World Cup 2022 that Qatar is hosting, according to Turkey's Ambassador to Qatar HE Fikret Ozer.
Speaking to Qatar Tribune, the Ambassador of Turkey said that one of the collaboration aspects between the two brotherly countries in the field of security is the Turkish military base located in Qatar which came to ensure the safety of the Gulf region in general.
He noted that Turkey and Qatar also share a very close collaboration concerning Qatar's preparations for the FIFA World Cup 2022 given the crowd expected which requires security precautions and measures."The two countries are cooperating closely to ensure the delivery of the World Cup in the best way," the Ambassador explained.
Furthermore, cooperative coordination exists between security and police institutions of the two countries such as the Turkish Gendarmerie General Command (Darak) and the Qatari Internal Security Forces (Lekhwiya), according to him."Groups of the Turkish security forces come to Qatar to give trainings and courses on internal security. Additionally, Qatari groups travel to Turkey to receive these trainings," he added.
The Ambassador noted that a number of Turkish construction companies in Qatar are responsible for some of the projects involving the construction of stadiums, infrastructure development, the metro project and the development of roads.
