'Makkah is a holy city for all Muslims'

THERE shouldn't be political reasons for preventing Muslims from performing their religious rights and duties as Prophet Mohamed (Peace Be Upon Him) is the prophet of all Muslims and not only of Saudi Arabia's friends and allies, according to Turkey's Ambassador to Qatar HE Fikret Ozer.
Speaking to Qatar Tribune, the Turkish Ambassador said that Makkah is a holy city for all Muslims, Prophet Mohamed (PBUH) is the prophet of all Muslims, and the right to transport including travelling to perform Umrah and visit the Prophet's mosque is a right to all Muslims.
"We cannot accept the rejection of Muslim Qatari citizens' visits to holy grounds in order to perform Hajj and Umrah and visit the Prophet's mosque," HE Ozer added.
According to him, it is crucial that these holy grounds be open to all Muslims.
"Saudi Arabia holds the trusteeship over these religious sites and should fulfil its responsibility of opening them to all Muslims. Preventing Qatari citizens from visiting Makkah and other religious locations is a mistake that should be fixed," the Ambassador said.
