The private sector has played a vital role in mitigating the impact of the ongoing economic blockade imposed on Qatar by some of its neighbouring countries, Minister of State HE Hamad bin Abdulaziz al Kuwari (in pic) has said.
Private firms have been working in tandem with the government to achieve the desired levels of self-sufficiency in almost all economic sectors of the country, the minister said.
"Every citizen of the country realised from the very first day of the blockade that he or she has a role to play. Not only the government, every Qatari and all those living in Qatar are working hard. It is the united effort that has defied the blockade," Kuwari has said.
The private sector is also playing a vital role in highlighting Qatar's rich art and cultural heritage on various global platforms, the minister said.
He especially praised the Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani Museum (FBQ Museum) for organising an international touring exhibition to display Qatar's rich cultural heritage across Europe.
