The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) will organise a health awareness campaign for the public as part of the celebration of World Immunization Week.
The campaign includes awareness-raising activities and events, including the distribution of educational and awareness posters, and gifts to visitors to commercial centres.
The drive will be carried out at the Landmark Mall on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 5pm to 9pm. The campaign will also be held at Villagio Mall from May 3 to May 5 from 5pm to 9pm, featuring recreational activities for children such as face painting, magic shows, puppet games and other competitions.
The ministry will also organise an awareness campaign in cooperation with the Arab Sports Club at the club's headquarters during which educational and awareness posters will be distributed on the importance of immunisations and their role in enhancing immunity.
The ministry will also organise a workshop on Sunday with the participation of all stakeholders and health workers from all governmental and private health facilities. The workshop will review the activities and events that are being carried out during the week and specialists from the MoPH will review the latest developments on the development of the national immunisation programme, which is considered one of the best national immunisation programmes in the Eastern Mediterranean region.
The World Immunization Week is being held from April 24 to April 30 under the theme 'Protected Together - Vaccines Achieve Its Purpose'.
This year's celebrations emphasise the need for more work on immunisation around the world, with a focus on the role that can be played by all in the achievement of this work.
