Vienna Fifty-four people were injured on Friday when a train crashed into standing carriages at the station in the Austrian city of Salzburg, Austrian Federal Railways said.
While most of the affected passengers suffered slight injuries such as cuts and bruises, one woman who broke several ribs and ruptured her spleen needed surgery. The accident happened shortly before 5 am (0300 GMT) as a night train from Venice was being connected with a train coming from Zurich. (dpa)
