More than 35 organisations came to Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q) to meet and network with students, including this year's graduating seniors. The Careers Platform event hosted potential employers from government agencies, multinational corporations, and local, Qatar-based businesses. The Class of 2018 will graduate on April 30 at a ceremony at CMU-Q.
Michael Trick, dean of CMU-Q, said,"It is encouraging to see so many employers reaching out and providing opportunities, especially for our graduating students. For the members of the Class of 2018, this is the beginning of a new chapter and I believe they will transition smoothly into the workplace: they are team players, ask the right questions, solve problems and work very hard."
Many of the organisations at Careers Platform were represented by alumni of CMU-Q who are now working within Qatar. Most CMU-Q graduates choose careers in Qatar, working for top organisations in the areas of business, science and technology. The total number of CMU-Q alumni is nearly 800. (TNN)
