Indonesian Embassy in Qatar in collaboration with its community association in Qatar (Permiqa), Akhyar TV, Indonesian Muslim Society in Qatar (Imsqa), and Messaied and Wakrah Indonesian Community (Mesra) organised a series of lectures on Islam recently. Well-known Indonesian Muslim scholar, Ustadz Adi Hidayat, Lc, MA gave lectures in Doha, Akhor, Messaied and Wakrah over three days.
Ustad Adi Hidayat, who is also the founder of Akhyar TV, has always called for unity in the Muslim community and to offer prayers for the political leadership of countries. The lectures were also in collaboration with Indonesian television and were telecast live through live streaming via internet.
Indonesian Ambassador to Qatar Air Marshal (Ret) HE Muhammad Basri Sidehabi urged the community in Qatar to take advantage of the lectures in order to strengthen their spiritual knowledge. The envoy appreciated the role of Indonesian Diaspora Community under the aegis the Permiqa chaired by Edwin Kurniawan to promote socio-cultural activities by arranging various lectures.
According to the envoy, Permiqa plays an important role in enhancing and strengthening the relationship between the Muslim scholar (ulama) and national leaders (Umaroh) for the betterment of countries as well as to promote cordial relations between Indonesia and Qatar.
The participants of the lectures were not only from the Indonesian community but also from Asean member countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei. Edwin Kurniawan wished the participants would improve their Islamic knowledge and enhance their taqwa to the Almighty Allah, and be better individuals.
According to Indonesia Embassy's official Boy Dharmawan, as representatives of the Indonesian people and its government, the envoy urges all Indonesians residing in Qatar to respect the law and traditions of the host country, and to contribute towards further strengthening Indonesia-Qatar relations.
