Kabul About a quarter of Afghanistan's polling stations face security risks, electoral officials said on Thursday, four months before the war-torn country is set to hold long-delayed parliamentary and local council elections. The Independent Election Commission said that 1,707 out of 7,374 polling sites are located in areas either contested or controlled by Taliban militants. The five-year term of the Afghan parliament and provincial council members ended in June 2015. (dpa)
