Sudan's minister hails Qatar for support

SUDANESE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Information Dr Ahmed Bilal Othman has said that his country would not forget the great role played by the State of Qatar in establishing peace throughout Sudan, especially in the Darfur region.
He hailed Qatar's support of the dialogue that resulted in the settlement of Darfur issue, facilitated its reconstruction and provided a boost to Sudanese economy through large investment projects.
In an interview with Al-Raya newspaper published on Thursday, the Sudanese minister of information described the Qatari-Sudanese relations as distinct, rooted and based on mutual respect.
He also expressed the hope that the Gulf crisis would be resolved soon, stressing Sudan's firm stance and support for the Kuwaiti initiative to reach a solution to the problem of brothers in the Gulf.
Regarding the facilities provided by the Sudanese government for Qatari investments, Dr Ahmed Bilal said that Sudan provides great facilities for Arab investors in general and for Qatari investors in particular and there are successful models, pointing out that opportunities are available and the Sudanese government will provide every help to any investor.
He affirmed that any Qatari investor coming to Sudan will find the doors open to him and that Sudan is a promising country and rich in resources that enable it to overcome economic problems.
