Qatari women are playing a vital role in supporting sustainable economic development of the country, Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) CEO Rashid bin Ali al Mansoori said on Thursday.
Speaking at a ceremony to mark International Women's Day at the QSE headquarters in Doha, Mansoori said,"The commemoration of the International Women's Day by Qatar Stock Exchange expresses our belief in the importance of the role played by women in supporting sustainable economic development of the country. We are proud of the achievements of Qatari women in various political, economic, social and educational fields, and their contribution in achieving the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.
"QSE has a clear interest in empowering women to carry out pioneering tasks in the Qatari capital market. We believe in the importance of women's participation in the trading market, economic activity, sustainable development and innovation," Mansoori said.
A bell-ringing ceremony by prominent Qatar businesswomen was organised to commemorate the day and recognise Qatari women for their role in economic and social development the country.
Besides top officials of the exchange, the ceremony was attended by several businesswomen and public figures from the diplomatic and business domains.
