RENOWNED Indian environmentalist Dr Vandana Shiva will speak at Qatar National Library (QNL) on March 29.
Vandana is a scholar,food sovereignty advocate and alter-globalisation author. She will deliver a lecture on food security and climate change, a key issue as Qatar moves towards greater self-sufficiency. The lecture will be presented in partnership with the Arab Youth Climate Movement Qatar.
The lecture will be part of a series of cultural and educational events to be held at Qatar National Library, a member of Qatar Foundation (QF), during March, with a special emphasis on environmental awareness.
Vandana is one of the leaders and board members of the International Forum on Globalization and the International Organization for a Participatory Society. She received the Right Livelihood Award in 1993, an honour known as an 'Alternative Nobel Prize'.
