An Omani small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) exhibition opened in Doha on Thursday.
The four-day expo features 28 pavilions, showcasing Omani industrial products including fashion, textiles, antiques, gifts, perfumes and incense, a press statement said.
The exhibition has been organised by the Omani embassy in Doha in cooperation with Oman's Public Authority for Investment Promotion and Export Development (Ithraa) and the Public Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Riyada).
The pavilions are designed to replicate an old market to reflect the traditional Omani style. The event attracted a large number of visitors at Ezdan Mall, the venue of the expo.
Qatar Chamber Vice Chairman Mohammed bin Ahmed bin Tawar al Kuwari said the exhibition presents an opportunity for SMEs to promote their products in the Qatari market.
He stressed the important role of SMEs in economies.
Tawar also pointed to the wide support the Qatari government offers for entrepreneurs and to the country's efforts to promote SMEs through initiatives and services provided by different state entities, including the Ministry of Economy (MEC) and Commerce and Qatar Development Bank (QDB).
