Qatar Airways recently announced direct flights to Thailand's beautiful mountain destination Chiang Mai. Thailand has gained in popularity as a tourist destination among Middle East travellers, prompting Qatar Airways to add their service to Chiang Mai four times a week. This is in addition to existing flights to the Thai capital Bangkok, and top holiday destinations Phuket and Krabi.
To celebrate the launch of the new route, Four Seasons representatives from Thailand visited Qatar, to introduce their resorts in the 'Land of Smiles'. Four Seasons Resorts Thailand comprise three luxury resorts Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai, nestled in a lush valley of rice fields in Northern Thailand, Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui, secluded on an island in South Thailand and the Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle. A fourth hotel is set to open in Bangkok next year.
During a press conference in Qatar, Four Seasons Chiang Mai and Tented Camp Golden Triangle General Manager Max Musto said:"For the past two years, Thailand has seen the most number of tourist arrivals in the world and more recently, it has recorded a surge in visitor arrivals from the Middle East. With Qatar Airways now launching hassle-free direct flights from Doha to Chiang Mai, Thailand has come closer to those seeking leisure and relaxation. I have had meetings with the Qatar Airways CEO who has assured me of continued support and who has even said that though the flights have been launched as seasonal, the increased demand could mean that they will very likely make it regular."
Chiang Mai, also called the called the 'Rose of the North', is far from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok and offers a calm vibe in a lush setting. It offers visitors a unique Thai experience with many stunning temples, restaurants and incredible rain forest scenery.
The Four Seasons Chiang Mai resort is situated near rice fields and offers guests the opportunity to stay in villas or luxury tents surrounded by bamboo jungles. It is perfect for large families who wish to have privacy or for couples on a honeymoon.
The resort has many wellness experiences for guests, designed to clear the mind and refresh the soul. The activities available for guests include engaging with nature by visiting the rice paddy, bathing the buffaloes, going on treks, or visiting the local villages to take part in local traditions. You can also try your hand at some Muay Thai Boxing or visit the fantastic spa or even take a cooking class. They now even have a website where you can view all the different experiences and choose what you want among them. The hotel's experience manager will then contact you to plan your itinerary.
The second Four Seasons resort in the North is at the Golden Triangle, a unique location and the intersection of three countries Laos, Myanmar and Thailand. At the Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle bare luxury meets nature's goodness and you can have a relaxed camp-out experience amidst nature but with the Four Seasons luxury touch. The Tented Camp is situated close to a herd of elephants and a private dinner at the Elephant Camp with the gentle giants for company is an incomparable experience.
At Chiang Mai you can view a very different side of Thailand, one not so much about shopping as it is about serenity and the Four Seasons resorts helps you along on your journey of discovery of this beautiful country. Be it a private yoga lesson with the in-house yogi, or an educative walk with elephants or a swim with an albino buffalo, Four Seasons Resorts Thailand adds their personal touch to make an ordinary experience truly extraordinary.
